Attorney Clifford A. Blackman, the founder and CEO of the Blackman Legal Group, has worked to protect the rights of individuals throughout the Bay area for over 33 years. Renowned and respected by clients and colleagues for his extensive trial experience and considerable negotiation skills, Mr. Blackman has successfully obtained million-dollar verdicts and negotiated seven-figure settlements in many personal injury and wrongful death cases. His well-honed skills and exhaustive knowledge when handling fatal accident cases helps him get full and fair compensation for all his clients.
Before earning his law degree from the San Francisco Law School, Mr. Blackman obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hofstra University in New York, where he studied drama and television production. As a successful trial attorney, he uses many of the presentation and public speaking skills he developed while studying drama and television production.
Attorney Blackman is admitted to practice in all state courts in California, as well as the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. He has been a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California since 1977 and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America since 1979. He has also been a member of the Philippine Professional and Business Society for 10 years.
In 1996, Mr. Blackman founded the Bay Area Lawyers Network, a select group of expert attorneys who concentrate their practices on a specific area of law. Each member has at least 10 years of experience in their area of expertise, and many have been certified as specialists by the California Bar Association. The group also provides continuing legal education for its members. Mr. Blackman has served as the organization’s chairman from 1997-present and led the group’s courtroom technology lecture series during that same time period.
A recipient of Martindale-Hubbell’s Very High-to-Preeminent rating, attorney Blackman also conducted a class on personal injury practice for the Center for Continuing Education from 1991 until 1999.
